Diamond

Paper

Scissors

Board

The game is played on a six-by-six checkerboard.

Game Setup

Before the First Game

Diamond, paper and scissors stickers should be affixed to the pieces so that either set of twelve includes:

  • Four pieces with a diamond symbol
  • Four pieces with a paper symbol
  • Four pieces with a scissors symbol

Initial Board Setup

Initial positioning of pieces on the board:

Beginning of the Game

Players draw or choose the color of the pieces. The player with red pieces goes first, moving one of his pieces onto another red piece or an empty space. Then the players take turns to move their pieces or towers. Skipping moves is not allowed.

Movement Rules

A move is made with a single piece or a tower made of several stacked pieces belonging to one player.

1. Movement with a Single Piece

You can move your own piece one tile in any direction, also diagonally and backwards. This means there is a maximum of eight possible movements. The piece can be put on:

  • An empty tile
  • Any own piece or tower
  • The tile of a piece or tower captured from the opponent

2. Movement with a Tower

One player's pieces can be stacked on top of each other to form towers. The movement is made by putting one of your pieces on another one, located on one of eight adjacent squares. You can also put a piece or a whole tower on your own tower. Before moving, you can preview the pieces that form the tower.

The pieces that make up the tower can be moved in two ways:

  • By moving the top piece: Only the piece placed on the top is moved, and the remaining part of the tower remains in place.
  • By moving the entire tower: Which moves the same way as a single piece. This means that you can place the tower on another own tower or another own piece, or make a beating with the entire tower.

ATTENTION: It is not allowed to split a tower other than by removing the topmost piece only, for example by moving the two topmost pieces and leaving the third piece in place. Creating towers from pieces of different color is not allowed either.

Beating Pieces

Beating pieces is performed in accordance with Rock, Paper, Scissors rules, so that:

Scissors beats Paper

Diamond beats Scissors

Paper beats Diamond

Your opponent's pieces can be captured using single pieces (including the top piece removed from a tower) or entire towers (with the top piece determining the result). All opponent's pieces positioned on the captured square are removed.

ATTENTION: It is not allowed to beat your own pieces.

Capture Examples

Here are a few examples of how pieces can be captured:

A paper piece beats a diamond piece

A paper tower beats a diamond piece

A paper piece from the top of a tower beats a diamond piece

A paper piece beats a whole diamond tower

Strategy

The most important thing in the game is to master its three-dimensional aspect. Building towers allows for faster movement of many pieces on the board, setting traps and avoiding being beaten/captured by removing the topmost pieces from the towers.
